Museo has translated the concept into gastronomic treats exquisitely presented with a contemporary twist.
While waiting for the restaurant to be open at 2pm, we strolled along the boardwalk to check out the surrounding and saw lots of yachts parking nearby. Probably it was on a weekday & the serenity surroundings made us felt like we were on a holiday.
As we walked towards the 2nd storey, we were greeted by friendly staffs from Museo. There was some filming going on at the restaurant so we were directed to a table by the window temporarily. After the filming ended, we were asked if we preferred to be seated at the daybed for a change & we went ahead to change the seating.
Cocktails:
Passionfruit Sling (SGD18)
Thyme & Grapes (SGD18)
There were so many cocktails for our selection & we were totally clueless which one to try out. We asked for their recommendation & decided to try out their fruity cocktails to start with. I ordered the Passionfruit Sling & totally love the combination of sweet & sour taste left on my palate. Hb ordered the Thyme & Grapes & he loved it too.
Mezzanine (Customise your own set @ SGD39 - choose 4 out of the 12 selections)
Museo is the first to serve food in exquisite cups. Truly enough, I was enticed by the presentation (dining in a cup concept). Although the cups looked small but the portion was quite filling actually.
These were what we ordered:
Joys of Life - Smoked Roast Pork Belly served with Hot Sauce
Roast pork is lightly salted. The meat was tender & did not feel too dry. The crispy skin reminded me of pork knuckles.
Smile of Mona Lisa - Deep Fried Camembert Cheese served with Cranberry Sauce
Cheese melted in my mouth. Crispy on the outside & soft in the inside. Its chunky & I was able to enjoy the texture of the cheese. It was good enough without the cranberry sauce.
Matisse's Gold - Deep Fried Silver Fish served with Hot Sauce
Freshly fried silverfish, very crispy & blended well with the seaweed & sesame seeds taste.
Three Musicians - Soft Shell Chilli Crab served with Sweet and Savory Tomato-Chilli Sauce
The filling was soft & tender. The sauce foes well with the seafood taste and the mix between the chilli & tomato gave a pleasant twist to the taste.
Smoked Salmon Wrapped Pine Asparagus with Fresh Green & Honey Mustard Dressing (SGD14)
Pleasant & surprising taste of the salad sauce. Very fresh & slight sweet. The smoked salmon wrapped pine asparagus was fine & the olives gave the salad a nice aftertaste.
Entrees:
Two Way Lamb (SGD35)
The roasted marinated lamb rack was just nice & not too tough. The fruity sauce helped to bring a different taste but soon the delicious taste of lamb just shone through. The spinach under the lamb was slightly bitter. The shepherd pie was hb's favourite.
Braised Short Rib with Vintage Port (SGD38)
The short rib was gelatinous & very soft. Well decorated, there was plenty of meat & mash potatoes. The side dish of boiled garden vegetables had a smokey taste.
Green Tea Creme Brulee (SGD12)
The egg custard flavoured with hints of light green tea taste. The gelato on the side was very refreshing on the palate.
Be lured away from the hustle and bustle into the titillating & sophisticated world of contemporary fusion dining.
