[Review + Giveaway] "Today I Am" by Mies Van Hout

Thanks to Fish Book Co Pte Ltd, my boy received a surprised mail from them not long ago! He was one happy boy for sure seeing those colourful drawings of different fishes drawn in various emotions.

"Today I Am" is a hand-drawn picture book meant for children aged 2-7. It is the Southeast Asian English version of the award-winning Dutch children's book "Vrolijk" by Mies Van Hout. It has since been translated into many languages including German, Italian, French and Basque.

It was first published in June 2011 in the Netherlands, "Vrolijk" has since garnered numerous accolades, including being nominated for the prestigious Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis (German Children's Literature Award) 2013. It has appeared on the front page of Finanacial Times Deutschland. The New York Times has dubbed the book as "a tour de force of underwater awesomeness".                                                                                  

I must say that Junior YS was quite enticed by those colourful pictures & he was willing to sit down & read the book with me while I was flipping the pages.

He was able to relate those words by linking to those fishes' emotions and showed me his facial expression as we went along.

By looking at this picture, you could guess which was his favourite fishy's emotion :)
